History

Originally developed as a Native Android application, Cop Overtime was developed to meet the specific needs for those on patrol or on administrative assignments. The application has now been ported to the iOS platform due to the overwhelming request. Migrating the application to iOS had it set of challenges primarily due to the fact that iOS is more restrictive than Android, a completely different programming language (i.e., Swift) was needed to be mastered and the fact that it costs significantly more to develop on (e.g. Yearly license to distribute, maintenance of a server and the requirement that a Mac is needed to develop on). After all these tribulations, the result is an extremely refined product. Not only does the iOS version match every feature of the Android version, the iOS version also supports this web portal. For the Android users, there will be an update so that this portal will be supported.
